VII International Symposium

LIFE AND DISEASE UNDER THE MICROSCOPE
New Methods and Strategies
for Cell Biology and Pathology in situ

Pavia, May 7-9, 2001

Aula Foscolo
University of Pavia - Strada Nuova 65

This 7th edition of the Symposia on Developments and applications of Light Microscopy Techniques is the last event held in the framework of the Leonardo da Vinci Programme  of the European Community.
As with the previous editions, its aim is to introduce and discuss how the interdisciplinary progress of light microscopy techniques is closely linked with, and often determines, the most innovative findings in Biology and Medicine.

The morning sessions will consist in plenary lectures held by renown international experts, and will be followed by the presentation and discussion of related posters. The main topics have been selected among fast-evolving fields of Biomedicine, and namely, luminescent reporters of living cell dynamics, angiogenesis, and apoptosis. Some of the posters will be also selected for oral presentation.

The afternoon sessions will be devoted to novel microscopy techniques for 3D-reconstruction and analyses, multicolor fluorescence and  digital microscopy.
